Falconer Family Holdings Limited (company number 17460957) is a family-owned holding company looking to acquire UK businesses. This notice explains what personal data we hold, where it came from, what we do with it and what you can ask us to do about it. We are the data controller.
Depending on who you are, some or all of: your name and role; your business address, telephone number and email address; information about you on the Companies House public register, such as other directorships, shareholdings and the month and year of birth shown there; our notes on your business and on our approach; and any correspondence between us.
We did not buy a list. The information comes from public and openly published sources:
We hold it to identify businesses we might buy, to contact their owners, or people who may know of them, about a possible acquisition, and to keep a record of who we have approached and what was said. We do not use it for anything else.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: our interest in finding a business to buy, and an owner's interest in hearing from a direct buyer. We have weighed this against your interests and rights. We keep what we hold to what is needed for that purpose and contact you only a small number of times unless you reply.
We do not sell your details or pass them to other buyers. They are seen only by:
Some of those providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens the transfer is covered by UK data-protection safeguards, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved contract terms.
If you tell us you are not interested, we keep only your name, your company and the fact that you asked not to be contacted, so that we do not contact you again, and we delete the rest. Otherwise we keep records of an approach for three years from the last contact and then delete them. If we go on to buy your business, or to discuss doing so in detail, we keep the records for as long as the law or the transaction requires.
You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will stop permanently and won't ask why. You can also object to us holding your data at all, and ask us for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, to delete it or to restrict how we use it.
To do any of these, email jake@falconerfamilyholdings.co.uk or write to the registered office below. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first at the same email address. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and let you know the outcome without undue delay. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
